Intuit – IFTF Future of Small Business Project

Intuit and the Institute for the Future have teamed up to undertake a research project to identify, analyze and forecast the trends that will impact small business over the next decade.  We will be presenting our findings in a series of 3 forecast reports.  The first report, on demographic and social trends, was released today and can be found at www.intuit.com/futureofsmallbusiness.  The report focuses on 3 major trend areas: (1) the increasing diversity of entrepreneurs and small business owners; (2) the growing proliferation of personal businesses; and (3) the emergence of entrepreneurship education.

The second report will describe small business related technology trends and will be released in the spring.  The third report will cover trends related to industrial structure and economic decentralization.  It will be released in early summer.
