The US Bureau of Labor Statistics has always done a solid job of collecting and disseminating data on the US workforce. Despite their consistent good work in this area, "great" has never been a word that comes to mind when reading their stuff. But if you are interested in demographic data on the changing American workforce, their "Working in the 21st Century" web site really is excellent. The data and forecasts are presented in a compelling and easy to understand style - with none of the confusing complexity usually found in government sites.
If you have kids definitely look at the Education Pays chart. I showed this chart to my teenage son and a group of his friends and it made a big impression. Several of the kids even went home and talked to their parents about this chart, which won me many neigborhood brownie points.
